Cannot connect using Remote Desktop Connection on a static IP exceptfrom home computer

Let me 1st say that my networking knowledge is limited, so I apologize
in advance if I misuse any terms. At my office, I have a server
running Windows Server 2003. I previously had a dynamic IP and used
dnsalias to enable myself to connect remotely w/ a RDC - it worked
great fom any computer running XP but it was fairly slow. I upgraded
to a static IP in an attempt to gain some speed and it is faster, but
now I the only computer I can connect from is my home computer and no
other computers can connect despite identical OS and configuration.
When I attempt a connection from any other computer, it begins to
initiate a session and then hangs up for a minute and then gives me
the error message "The connection to the remote computer was broken.
This may have been caused by a network error. Please try connecting
again to the remote computer." My suspicion is that the reason it
works solely from my home is that my home and office are on the same
account with the same provider, but even other computers w/ my
provider (SBC Yahoo) that aren't on my account don't work. Anyone
have any idea what is causing this and any ideas of how to resolve it?

Thank you very much.
