Cannot access the database server?

Erik

So, We was just going to make the final move to start using BCM with
outlook 2007 but I was assigned to make sure that it worked with our
vpn server...
Our tech guy was nice enough to give me my very own little WMware
machine that I could destroy if I wanted... his own words...:D

Well, back to the serious matter then, I set up the DB just fine and
started the sharing guide, I have already done it in a LAN system and
there it worked just great, no problems at all... ut when I tried to
connect to the db with our VPN I just keep getting:

Cannot access the database server on computer ANYA. For more
information, click help

\\ANYA works fine for browsing the files and I can also use Remote
Desktop with \\ANYA to access the computer, so it seems that it's for
some reason not connecting to the DB!

We're running MS Server 2003 with MSSQL v8, OUtlook 2007 with BCM if
thats of any help!

So it would be really nice if someone of you guru's could give me some
suggestions what it might be that I need to change!

I'm not expert, but I followed this guide:
http://blogs.msdn.com/sql_protocols/archive/2006/09/30/778521.aspx
and also this:
http://blogs.msdn.com/bcm/archive/2...a-business-contact-manager-2007-database.aspx
I have been able to successfully connect remotely through vpn to the
shared db in my office. In order to do all this, I had many questions
to our tech support company.Goodluck
