Cannot Access Site

I am using XP SP2 and IE 6. I am attempting to access the site
http://sps.usta.com This address produces the following error
message: Login Error (1)
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the
information you supplied.
Please try one of the following:
- Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.
- If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page,
please contact the Web site administrator by using the following
e-mail address: [email protected]
I have removed router and software firewall. Did not help.
This is a valid site used by United States Tennis Assoc. to construct
web sites for tennis groups associated with USTA. Other computers in
my house can access the site but I can't. I have never had a similar
problem before. I cannot find an internet Security setting that might
help. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I tried to open the site http://sps.usta.com , but was asked for a user
name and password. I then searched www.google.com using: sps usta and
found this site
http://www.usta.com/home/default.sps which is no doubt where you need to
go and register.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Emrys Davies.

Thanks Emrys.
I have the user name and password. I just can't get to the site to use
them.
I get the above error message when I try to get to the site.

Strange this. The first and ony thing I get when I open your site is a
window which requests the user name and password. Below is a rough copy
of the window as it does not copy and paste and I don't think a Print
Screen will work on these forums.

Enter Network Password

Please type your name and password

Site: sps.usta.com

Realm TWiWeb Manager

User Name ........................

Password .........................

Save this password in your password list

OK Cancel

When I close that window I get the following, just like what you
receive.

Login Error (1)

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the

Please try one of the following:

- Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.

- If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page,
please contact the Web site administrator by using the following e-mail
address: [email protected]

So your problem, as I see it, is that you are not getting the Network
Password window displayed. I think you should try this gentleman
[email protected] He should help.

Emrys Davies.

The thing that makes this so screwy is that I have a wireless network
with two similar Dell computers set up the same way, My wife can
access http://sps.usta.com on her computer but I can't. I have
written USTA that furnished the link and they can't tell me what's
wrong. But thanks for your response.

I see you are not getting the login dialog box and are going straight to the
failed login page.

In IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Security page, click to select the
Internet Zone, click Custom, scroll all the way to the bottom, and make sure
the "Prompt for username and password" is selected in the User
Authentication/Logon section.

If no joy, go to that user account's cookie folder - C:\Documents and
Settings\<user name>\Cookies and delete any cookies relating to that site.

If no joy, totally nuke that account's TIF and History folders from another
account with Admin. privileges:

This may be caused by a firewall or anti-spyware running on your machine.
After inserting your username and password hold down the CTRL key while
pressing the OK or Login button.
