cannot access microsoft web page or windows update

Hi,
I am running windows xp with IE 6.0. No one in the office
can access the microsoft.com home page or windows update.
They have no problems getting to all other web sites. We
can access the microsoft home page by using AOL with dial
up. Is this an IE6.0 problem? Any ideas?

Hi Mitch,

Seeing the same thing at a client's office... four
systems, three of them Windows XP Pro SP1a and one a Mac
OS10.3.5, cannot reach several sites from any machine,
including www.epson.com (or any of the US Epson sites) nor
the McAfee web sites. Interestingly, we CAN reach the
Epson UK and Australian web sites. Tracerts
show "destination unreachable" on the final hop:

11 epson-america.LosAngeles.savvis.net [208.173.44.202]
reports: Destination net unreachable.

A similar unreachable message shows up for the McAfee
speed test site.

I've emailed my client's DSL provider and ISP, CenturyTel,
but so far have heard nothing.
