page cannot be displayed..

Pete

I'm running IE 6.0 in XP and using a dialup connection.
Some time ago I began getting the "page cannot be
displayed" error on certain sites that I used to be able
to access. One example: I can't get to any link from
yahoo's home page, ie: finance, yellow pages, games, maps,
etc. These are just a few examples.

I checked the knowledge base however none of the articles
applies to this problem for IE6.0 in XP. I do not use AOL
or Internet Boost any other acceleration utility.

Any input much appreciated,
Pete

Mike,

Thanks alot. This MS site is a jungle. I didn't come up
with those links you posted when I searched. Anyway,
there was a problem with a host file. I renamed it and
all is well now.
Thanks again
