Internet Explorer has encountered problems and needs to
close. We have created an error report that you can send
to help us improve IE. We will treat this report as
confidential.

click for details...

This report includes information regarding the condition
of IE when the problem occurred; the operating system
version and computer hardware in use, your digital product
ID, which could be used to identify your liscence, and the
Internet Protocal address of your computer.

again, click for more info...

then the jibberish...something about Exceptional
Information, code and flags. Something on System Info,
vendor code, bla bla. Module 1 Image base, Image size,
etc... and all the rest a lot of technical stuff about
modules 1,2, 3, etc... that`s it.

Finish up with HijackThis

My husband is having this problem with his PC. I have removed the appcompat.txt file, I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE, up to Version 6. The OEM support (Dell) had me repair the XP OS . Still having the same problem and really don't want to rebuild if I can avoid it. OEM support also had me run AdAware to clean up possible probems

Should I also try CWShredder and Hijack
Thanks

Hi,
[Jumping in]

Yes.
Run CWShredder first. Then if necessary Ad-aware and/or Spybot (Either
should be updated after installation- before use.)
If unsuccessful with all of those then use HijackThis to post a log to one
of the spyware forums.
Also note security tips and other useful information at

Hi Don,
"Then if necessary Ad-aware and/or Spybot"
FYI: It is *always* necessary .... as CWShredder was designed ONLY
as a preliminary tool to remove some objects that the other
tools (AWW\SpyBot and HijackThis) were not able to handle.
