cancelling print jobs

Could someone explain to me why it takes sooooooo looooooong to cancel a
print job??? Is there something that will just end it instead of it going
crazy for a long while. On a print test page, it takes 5 minutes to cancel
the job.

Any advice out there??

you are kidding.......

things in computers are fast because it talks to itself.
the printer is a different device. system has to talk to
the printer and then cancel the process and then return
information back to the computer. sometimes this takes
time.

try getting a beer out of fridge...
or soda...
or goto restroom....
or watch the sharon stone/Ellen DeGeneres love scene.

It takes a long time to cancel because whatever has already been sent to the
printer can't be sucked back out, so that portion will continue to print
until the cancel signal gets to the printer.
