I have many slides with animation and I want to get rid of the animation all
at once. Can that be done?

It would have been better to ask in the PowerPoint forum, this one is for Word.
But I believe the following can work.
If you want to globally remove slide transitions:
- Go to Slide Sorter
- Hit Ctrl a (to select all slides)
- Right click any of the slides
- Select Slide Transition (task bar will appear)
- Select "No Transition"
- Click "Apply to All Slides"

Hope this helps
