can you insert an .mpg video as an object in a page?

Hi,

I would like to add a small video file to my website. When I use an .avi
file, there are no problems at all, whether I add the video file with
Insert - Image or whether I put it in an object with Insert - Web
components. But an .avi file is too big, so I encoded the file to .mpg. I
made sure I used mpeg-1 so that the file is supported by all computers. When
I insert the video file as an image again, there are no problems. But I
would like a mini-mediaplayer to appear, so that people can start and stop
the file when they want. However, when I use an object like that to insert
the video, the .mpg file won't play. Is there a solution to this problem? I
am sorry if one or two things are unclear. I'm using the Dutch version of
Frontpage 2002 and I don't know for sure what the menu options are called in
the English version.
