....using Outlook 2000 sp3/WINXP PRO
I have a gmail, an adelphia.net and a myrealbox.com account, both of which
support pop, pop and imap access respectively.
When I am using the local library's free wifi (Lousiville Free Public
Library), I can surf and download to my heart's content, but I can't use any
email client to download email(Outlook, Outlook Express or Pegasus). I
receive a message that the connection was refused.
In the case of gmail, the library appears to be blocking that
site(gmail.google.com)... I can't surf to that address. But I have no
problem reaching and using the myrealbox.com or adelphia.net account.
I normally use Firefox, but I have verified that I can surf from IE (as
Outlook doesn't appear to have its own connection manager). Note that the
library does require a proxy server (proxy1.lfpl.org:80).
Appreciate all ideas...
