Can't send e-mails when connected to a WIFI net diff. from my home

Anytime I work on a wifi network that is not my own private at-home wifi
network, Outlook 2007 cannot send e-mails because it says it cannot connect
to the server.

It can be on a public restaurant hotspot, in a library or at a friend's
house, it won't send e-mails. I tried disabling my ZoneAlarm firewall, didn't
help.

Receiving e-mails or surfing the internet is perfectly fine.

Any help appreciated.

Your outgoing server (smtp) is set to your Internet service provider's smtp
server. Typically, they only allow machines connected to their network (and
have therefore been authenticated) to use it - otherwise spammers would.
Ask your ISP if they have an authenticated server you can use when not on
their network or sign up for google mail, which does have one.
