Can send but not receive fax

I have winXP media center edition on a new Dell Dimension 8400 computer with
Microsoft Fax console 5.1 installed and running. I can send faxes without a
problem, but I can't receive a fax. I have tried every suggestion I could
find, but nothing helps. I checked all settings over and over but can't
find anything wrong. I also have a AIO Dell printer with fax capability.
Do these programs work together or is there a problem there? I have DSL and
a Conexant D850 56K v.9x DFVc Modem.
Any suggestions?

You enable sending and receiving separately. Does the balloon pop
up when the phone rings? Make sure that Windows XP fax is attached
to the correct modem. Sometimes if you have a cable for a wireless
phone attached, the fax software will associate itself with that
modem which is only present when the cellular phone is tethered to
the PC.

Thanks for your reply.....
I have both enabled. The balloon pops up and says call was answered, then
receiving fax, then errors out. I know it's connected to the correct
modem...I only have one. No wireless phone.
