Can outlook allow messages to remain in original server inbox?

I have a comcast email account, and I set up Outlook 2003 for my mailboxes.
I need to be able to check my emails, even after they have been read at home
in my Outlook profile and am unable to do so. Is there a way to allow
messages to remain in my original comcast webpage server inbox? Or, do
messages automatically clear with no way to chekc them from remote locations?

In your account setting go to "more settings" after getting to where you set
the user name and password, etc., on the alst tab, I beleive, is a check box
the reads "Leave a copy on the Server". There are other settings her so you
can customize the behavior but, this is what you are looking for. Just be
careful that your Comcast box doesn't get to full.

Thank you. I went into tools, send/reciece, send/recieve settings and then
went to edit my accounts. I found under the advanced tab the "leave a copy
in the server." I then said, ok and closed out. I have tried several times
but it does not seem to be saving this setting, as I have sent several test
emails and still they are erased from my comcast box whe nI check them in
outlook.

Thanks for the help. ANy ideas on what might be happening wrong?

No answers here, but I am having the same issues, expect on yahoo mail. In
fact, with the box checked to "leave a copy on the server", I get duplicate
emails, and it does not remain on the yahoo. server. Oddly enough, Gmail
does stay on the server, I think regardless of the Outlook setting. The
Yahoo people say I need to talk to Microsoft.

Can anyone help the both of us?
