I have tried to download the two fixes for the emails being stuck in the
outbox, but they will not work on this problem. this is the exact error I get

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'test', Account: 'Suddenlink Mail -
(e-mail address removed)', Server: 'smtp.suddenlink.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

This has been happening for a while and it is driving me nuts!!!

Is suddenlink.net your internet provider? If not, port 25 is probably
blocked and you will have to ask them if they accept email on
another port and how to sep up to use it.

I assume your ISP is suddenlink.net

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.

You should not use that fix unless you have confirmed that you have
a stuck email.

There are two possible reasons for the error you are seeing.
1. Using a laptop computer away from one's home connection.

If that is not the case:
2. Make sure you are not using incompatible third party security
software. Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
or Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see
