Windows Mail Problem

I am unable to send or receive email using Windows Mail. I get the following
2 error messages:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Rusten's Photo', Account:
'suddenlink.net', Server: 'suddenlink.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'suddenlink.net', Server: 'suddenlink.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F

I have Norton 360 and have disabled, then uninstalled and reinstalled, and
tried other changes. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks.--

You need to enter the correct email server names in order to access your
email. You've left part of it out.

This appears to be your settings, but I'm not sure.

Residential:
The Outgoing (SMTP) mail server address is: smtp.suddenlink.net
The Incoming (POP3) mail server address is: pop.suddenlink.net

If you need further help, follow the instructions for Outlook Express on
that page.

you may want to try changing your ports to 465 for SMTP and 995 for your pop3
configuration. if tis does not work try unselecting the SSL login requirement
for the incoming problem.. it worked for me

For most antivirus programs from Norton, you need to uninstall them and
leave them uninstalled to stop them from causing problems in Windows
Mail. This also applies to most antivirus programs from McAfee and a
recent program from Trend. You may also need to run this cleanup
program:

<http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039>

You may even need to remove your email account under Windows Mail,
then create it again, to complete the cleanup.

If this works, you may want a replacement antivirus program.
I recommend either avast! or AVG, either one with a custom install
that tells it to leave out the part that scans email.

Close the program that you created the resume in.
WM won't send an attachment that's open by another program.

Do you have all other programs that access them closed when you
attach them to the outgoing mail? Windows Mail often has problem
with attached files if you don't.
