I used to be able to check my e-mail with no problems using Windows Mail (my
server is suddenlink.net) A few days ago it stopped sending/receiving mail
and asks me to log on with username and password (all correctly entered) then
I get this error
" Account: 'pop.suddenlink.net', Server: 'pop.suddenlink.net', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user name or password.', Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92"

Can anyone help? I've deleted account..added again...still no change.

What happens if you disable your AV or Security program from scanning your mail

I really don't know how to do that, but my husband tried that a couple days
ago and nothing changed. I can't for the life of me figure this one out..I
don't know of anything that changed from the day it was working to the next
day it stopped.

I had the same problem, but when asked for a user name, I typed in my full
email address provided by my ISP and the same password as my ISP account and
everything seemed to be ok. Whether this will also work for people having
the problem of not being able to send emails I do not know.

Also, don't forget to go into your account on Mail and change your user name
to your full email address in the servers section in properties on your
account.

Either ask someone that knows how to do it or wait until your hubby gets home. It is
difficult to tell you what and how to do it since I do not see your computer screen
in front of me and I have no idea what is on there

Try this. Can you tell me which Anti Virus is installed. Then do a search for that
Anti Virus and when found right click on it and select Properties and see if you can
see the Mail Integration section. When found disable the email scanning only

The settings for the account are here:
http://www.suddenlink.com/support/how-to/HT-WindowsMailVista/

Ensure all are the same as described.

Remember that the password is case senSiTiVE.

After you removed the account and rebuilt it, did you close down WM in
between?

"Internal server error" means the problem isn't on your end.
Complain to your mail provider.

However, the error message may be wrong. One thing you
should try as a possible quick fix is to delete that mail account,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.
