Every time I try to send an e-mail I get this error:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject '', Account: 'pop.west.cox.net', Server:
'smtp.west.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F

Can anybody help me?

Trend Micro. I don't think thats the problem though. I turned my antivirus
off and I turned my spy checker off and I still had the same error.

There's been a rash of these in the past week or two. Do you think these
are conflicts with the Defender updates on 10-14 and 10-15? I haven't found
details of what that included. But there sure are a lot of folks posting
this error on setup.

465 change did not help me.
I have the outgoing server address.
I have the incoming address.
I have the authentication numbers for out and in.

Post the error message that YOU received.
You may have the same SYMPTOM, You may NOT have the same CAUSE. You may not
even have the same e-mail provider.
For a starter : what authentication number for " in " ?

You might be correct that it is not Trend Micro but turning it off does not
ensure that it is not effective. It would probably still be executing; just
not doing any protection.

I am sorry I don't know what else to say. You could at least look in the
Trend Micro web site and/or call them to determine if there have been
problems such as yours. I don't want to suggest uninstalling Trend Micro if
that does not solve the problem, but some of the experts here might suggest
that.

There might be a problem with something else that has not yet been found. If
so then I hope someone finds the problem and solution soon.

If the solution does not work for you then the problem is not the same and a
new thread should be created for it. Since you did not, then please at least
comply with t-4-2's request to post the complete, accurate error message.

Having an incorrect port is not the only reason for failure. It is just the
one which came to mind after seeing the OP's setup.
As you have not provided your setup information, it is anybody's guess as
what your particular problem may be.

Wait, I didn't read your reply to the end. You mean you don't have
Yahoo!Plus ?
Why were you using their settings ?
Anyway, yes, you have to pay them for Yahoo! Mail Plus if you want their
service.

I changed it to 465 and I think that worked. Thanks!

Shouldn't the port number be 465?
