can not open file after moving to drive D

Hi all,
I have an HP Pavilion and i have bought it with Windows XP home edition.
HP as donne 2 partitions on the main disc, and i have a problem with folders
on the 2 partition...
The problem is when i have a folder with some files and folders inside on
the D: partition and cut it and paste on a new path on the same partition the
folder becomes not accesible, there is the error of the file is not
accesible, please see if the drive is full ( no i have enought space ) or if
the file is in use ( on the folder there are pictures from my family, and
there is nothing in use )...

Any ideas how can i solve this
