Can not capture video or audio

I use the Dazzle Mojave capture device that came with my Dell computer. When I open Movie Maker, I click on Capyure Video. The video wizard comes up and shows in the "Available Device" section the Dazzle Capture Device is shown.. However, the "video input device" section is not highlighted or accessable. When I click through the wizaed set up and click the last section of it to record, the following error message comes up: "Video device is currently in use. Close any other application using the device." The Dazzle is not being used by anything else that I am aware of. I believe that Movie Maker does not recognize the device, or can not find it. I use the Dazzle on Video Wave 4, and it works, but I would like to try Movie Maker. What am I missing?

I'm not faniliar with the dazzle device, is it external? connected by
firewire? You could capture with videowave as a dv-avi file and import this
in to your collections in Movie Maker to edit it.
