Movie Maker Freezes With Dazzle DVC80

I just purchased the Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80. It's recognized as a video capture device (along with my webcam) in Movie Maker, however, every time I click on it as the capture source, Movie Maker freezes. Is there a compatability issue between Movie Maker and the Dazzle? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,

Try this (fixed all of my freeze ups):

(1) Right-click Desktop
(2) Select Properties
(3) Click Settings tab
(4) Click Advanced button
(5) Click Troubleshooting tab
(6) Position the pointer to the third from the left index
(7) "OK" your way back to the Desktop

Good luck

Harry

Sorry, I tried your suggestion, and it didn't work. I got a little farther before freezing up. It gave me an Active Movie Window, but then it froze again.

OK... make certain that all other active tasks are
terminated BEFORE trying to create the movie -- e.g.,
anti-virus programs; screen-saver (choose "none", since
some of them can consume huge amounts of CPU time); along
with anything else that is active on the task bar... just
right-click them and select "exit".

Hello there,

You may want to check out which version driver you have installed for your
graphics card. Having an out of date driver can make a big impact. There is
a chap who has been chatting with me via e-mail who had a computer only 6
months old...but the graphics driver pre-installed was several version out
of date. One he got the current one from NVidia he was able to run Movie
maker with no trouble at all.
