Can Microsoft Optical Wireless mice be repaired.

The Old Timer

I had been having lots of opening programs & dialogue boxes with the cursor
flickering & opening sometimes that I had never asked it to. The problem
appears to be my Microsoft Optical wireless mouse. Can these be repaired?
 
Most likely not for the cost of a new one. These are "throw-away" items
since it costs more to repair than replace.
