Can I turn off XP's background defrag?

Altering the subject slightly, Mr. Vanguardx I appreciate the"pointing" to a
file on "prefetching" from techreplublic.com. This has solved my question,
although to Mr. Barry Watzman, I wish continued success in his endevors...BG
