What olfart said. The dynamic expanding drive will give you more latitude
when expanding the disk as well as keeping the "disk" as small as possible.
The Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) is a file on the host OS, and is rather large..
For a bare bones Win98 install it will be somewhere around 200MB, if you
set it up to use a dynamic disk.
As an aside, to backup your virtual disks you simply copy the files to another
drive or folder.
I'm not sure now what I did. It asked me how much RAM to assign it. I
had a default amt. set. So I moved the bar to midway. I don't recall
it asking whether to assign a fixed amount or set it up as dynamic
disk.??
But anyways, I got it up and running. Its so coool. Now I can run that
windows 98 program and switch back and forth. That program is working
great now in the 98 environment.
One little problem tho, I can't get it to connect to internet. I seem
to remember the last time I used Virt.PC that I could. Am I wrong?? I
installed the ethernet drivers in case that was the problem but still
no luck.
It recognizes one of my CD drives but it hasn't yet seen the other one
which might only be designed for XP and 2000 (A samsung DVD writer).
So maybe that's why. NO problem tho, I installed the Nero INCD reader
so I can move files needed there. Would be nice to be able to access
internet tho just in case it was needed for a download.
