can I restore text previously deleted in word

I used to know a two-key command to restore deleted text, even after a new
"save" was made, but don't remember it. can anyone help?
 
Ctrl+Z for Undo will undo actions such as Clear (delete), provided you
haven't closed the document. Or you can click the arrow beside the Undo
button for a list of actions to undo.

The Undo command (Ctrl+Z) will work as long as you haven't closed the document.
