You can use this method, as I know of no way windows
password protects folders, you'll need Winzip, which as
this says can use a password to protect your files, there
is a small pluss all the files you put into Winzip will
be compressed and help save a bit of space. Winzip 9.0
has a free edition.
To protect files in a zipped compressed folder with a
password
Open My Computer, and then locate the compressed folder.
Double-click the compressed folder.
On the File menu, click Add a Password.
In the Password box, type a password.
In the Confirm Password box, type the password again.
Notes
To open My Computer, click Start, and then click My
Computer.
Passwords are case sensitive.
You can identify compressed folders by the zipper on the
folder icon.
When you extract an password protected file, the
extracted file is no longer protected.

I share a pc with my daughter, and was wondering if it's
possible to password protect my folders or files. If
anyone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks
