Can I password protect my files and/or folders?

I share a pc with my daughter, and was wondering if it's possible to password protect my folders or files. If anyone can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks
 
go to help in windows and enter access control
With the right settings you can set permissions down to the file level
