can I install a hp cd-writer 2200 series in WinXP?

I have an old hp cd-writer that I found when I moved
home.I can't find the intallation CD or disk.Can this
writer be installed in WInXP? It doen's recognize this
device, and I don't know what to do do install it..

It's probably not compatible with XP. As inexpensive as new CD
Writers are, just buy a new one that is plug and play. You can use
the 2200 as a CD reader.
