Take the disk out of his machine and install it as a slave
disk in some other machine. Check out Google for references
to "undelete" - there are lots of them. If the files are really
really really important then you should take a snapshot
of the disk first, using something like DriveImage or Ghost,
so that you don't make matters worse with your undelete
tools.
You seem to have a network with a domain. Why do you
let your users store their files locally? They should store
everything on shared server drives that get backed up
every night! Is there a company policy on proper PC use?
Has it been published? Has every user signed it?
