Hi, very difficult to explain, but basically when i look at a web site eg first direct banking, which on all other machines is a totally black page with white writing and graphics etc, on mine its a white screen, no graphics and no likns/icons etc, if i move the mouse around it finds icons that i can click on, but i cant see them without accidently running over them with the mouse, apart from the visual side it all works fine, but for some reason its just not displaying web sites properly. also if i click over a menu, the drop down list appears, but its transparent and the text gets lost in what it drops on to, ie there is no solid background, i've tried re-loading ie6 but it wont let me as it says i've already got most reent version, someone please help, this is incredibly annoying. thanks in advance.

Hi, Woody. What changed between the time things worked and the time they
didn't? Do you experience the same problems in other, non-Internet
programs (like a word processor, for example)? If the problem only
occurs on the Internet, start by scanning for viruses and spyware. If
the problem is in all your programs, it sounds like a video issue. If
you have one of those special XP themes - not the ones that came with
the operating system - installed, I'd uninstall them. Post back with
some more information about when this happened - or even if this is a
new computer and it was always doing this - to help us narrow down the
reason for the problem. You described the problem quite well, btw.

Cheers,

Malke

Hi,

Change your settings here: IE/Tools/Internet Options/Accessibility/Ignore
colors.....

Other than that, to reinstall IE, run this edit then re-download or right
click the inf and install.

Reinstall IE and/or Reinstall OE (Line 114)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

After running this edit, rename the CatRoot2 folder (Windows\CatRoot2) and
then go to Start/Run, and type:

"rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\inf\ie.inf"
