I have a digital Sony camera and I want to download the photos onto my pc. XP
recoginses that the camera is being connected (there is an icon on the system
task bar) but does not show up on <start><My Computer> as a new device.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Set the camera to PC and turn it on. You should hear a ding-dong that
it is activated.

My camera shows up as a removable disk with a drive letter..... not labelled
as a Camera!!

I had the same problem with my sony after i installed real player and

installed on your pc

I have the same problem. I bought Olympus D-545. When I connect the camera to
my computer, it doesn't show "Removable Disk: F". And it says the software
for this hardware can't be installed because a necessary entry is missing. I
contacted Olympus customer support. They say I may need to activate the USB
mass storage device drivers and I should find "usbstor.inf" file in C -
Windows - INF folder, right click on it and install. I followed their
instructions but I don't have this file. Please, HELP! Can I find this file
