calendar; invite attendees keeps repeating inviting same meeting

A friend has invited me to his meetings, via the "invite attendees" tab, in
the appointment calendar window. I have accepted the invitation, however, I
continue to receive the same request, via e-mail. Currently, I am receiving
30 identical request per day for this one appointment. I have even opened my
friends Calendar, on his machine, to attempt to disable.

I appreciate any insight that might be provided.

Are either of you running an AV that scans email? Try turning off the mail
scanning and see if it improves the situation. You may need to uninstall
and then reinstall and de-select the mail scanning.
