I suddenly noticed my calculator is missing. I don't
know when or how this happened. It is not in my Recycle
Bin, I didn't delete it. It's just not there, anywhere.
I have used it before, but now it is nowhere to be
found.

Does anyone know of this? I searched the support online
help at microsoft and only saw one obscure reference to a
chineese installation. I am just using english. XP
Home.

If not can you recommend a good simple calculator to
download from a safe site?

Thanks,
LC

The actual calculator is not in start, accessories. That's just a shortcut.
The real file is here:
C:\windows\System32\calc.exe
Just create a new shortcut to it.

Hello Phil

Thanks, but unfortunately it's not that simple. It is
actually not on my Computer anywhere. I did a find on my
Computer for "calc" and it did not find anything. I had
it on my quicklaunch menu (because I use it often) but
when I went to access it, I got the little flashlight and
it went searching my computer for it and did not find it.

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
LC

If you can't find calc.exe in C://windows/system32 (its default location)
you will have to download it from your xp CD since it is a part of XP

Either load it from the xp cd or get it from a friend and drop it in the
c:\windows\system32 folder.

Often files are lost if they reside in unmarked bad sectors on your hard
drive.
