Terminology is important here. You have one hard drive, that is 250 GB,
correct? Originally it had a single partition that was designated C:. Was
XP installed to that partition? Then you somehow resized that original
partition, created a second partition (primary or extended?) from that free
space, formatted it, and gave it the label of E:. Then you reinstalled XP.
Why did you reinstall XP to E:? How did you reinstall?

Right click My Computer, Manage, Disk Management (left pane), in the right
pane it will show a graphical representation of the drive and the partitions
on it. What does DM show?

Thanks for the reply

I have done what you have said and it says\shows

1. A Icon of the drive
2. Layout - Partition
3. Type - Basic
4. File System - NTFS
5. Status - Healthy (partition unknown)
6. Capcity - 136.09GB
7. Free - 98.62GB
8. % Free - 72
9. Fault Tolerance - No
10. Overhead - 0%

and it show the the other drive but a bit different
1. It show the Icon of the drive and next to that it says e:\

and obviously it is the sizes are different.

The info you've given in still incomplete. Does it show one drive with two
partitions? What do you mean when you write, "and it show the other drive
but a bit different"? What other drive? I thought there was only one drive
with multiple partitions. What info is displayed for the other partition?
How it it labeled? Can you post a link to a screen shot of the disk manager
display?

You also haven't answered the other questions in my first reply.

Ok
i have one hard drive which i partitioned
When i open disk management i see ONE (1) drive with twoi partitions
they say the same as in my last post but with different sizes etc
both of them say that
Layout = Partition
Status - Healthy (partition unknown) but on the E:\ the one that i can
see when i open my computere it dont say partition unknow it says
Healthy(system)
But on the bit where is show the icon of a hard drive (in the first
column) one of the partitions just show the icon and no letter to
reperest the drive but the other one as the icon and e:\ written next
to it.

hope this is clearer now.
