Just remember that any additional software that you want to install
may also have to be the US version.

Why? There's no such restriction.

I'm not sure whether there is a UK version of Windows XP that's separate
from the US version, but I don't think so. There are some configurable
options, like the keyboard, currency, and date settings, but as far as I
know there's only a single English version for both countries.

Ken,

thanks for explaining.
However often enough I have seen postings from [MSFT] employees,
I was hoping one of them would post

Thanks again for explaining [MVP]

rgds,
Edwin.

Thanks Ken and everyone for your replies,
Certainly seems to me, there shouldn't be any issues. Will soon find out!!!!!
Think i'll go ahead and pick up a copy of the software when i'm over the pond.
Cheers

You see them occasionally, but not at all often. It's very important to
note, however, that when you do see them, they are essentially posting as
individuals, and the information they provide is not necessarily Microsoft's
official position.

I was hoping one of them would post

You're welcome. Glad to help.

You're welcome. Glad to help. Since nobody has corrected me on my statement
that there aren't separate US and UK versions, I guess I'm right.

I can't see you having any problems, I live in the UK and my copy came
from Microsoft themselves in the USA. I just had to configure it for UK
English and everything is fine as was the activation which was done
online.

Thanks Joan,
That confirms it then. Will definately buy the software when i visit the US.
Thanks to you all.
