buy a new motherboard

I am not sure what kind of problem it is. My computer will automatically
shut off at randoms. When I press the power button it does not turn on.
Finally i wen to the circuit break and turn it off and on and my computer t
load up. Do you think my computer is not getting enough energy or what seems
to be the problem. I have AMD 2600+. So if you can give me a hint on what to
do that would be great.

Sounds more like overheating to me.

Should I buy another motherboard. What is my solution. The second question
is will i loose all my programs because I would have to reformat my hard
drive.

Check the heat inside your computer. Get Everest Home from
www.lavalys.com and check the temperatures. You may need to get a
better heatsink/fan. Try running the computer with the side panel open
and see if the problem still happens. Also, when it locks up like that,
you can turn it off by holding the power button for 5 seconds (or maybe
a little more).

Yo/u could add another cooling fan and be sure that the ribbon cables
are not blocking air flow.
