I have a small business server 2003, a 2000 windows server in which I have
implememted terminal services on, and several xp pro workstations. I was
told by MS pre sales support that I could install outlook 2003 with BCM on
the 2000 server and share the BCM database. However, even though I'm able to
install outlook and and bcm and set up sharing ....my xp workstation clients
don't connect to the 2000 server. I keep getting no business contact manager
for outlook could be found....
If I log in to the workstation as an administrator I'm able to connect to
the shared data base. I've given all the users administrator rights and
checked the sharing and permission rights on the 2000 server ....all looks
ok....puzzled. What do I need to do to get my users to work.

Glen,
I don't know if you found a fix for your problem, I just installed BCM on a
win 2k server and shared the database, I found that all my users had to be
admins on the server to access the db. My fix was to change the permissions
of the sql db by using Enterprise Manager.

I created a windows group on the server then added the group as a user in
Ent Mgr to the db. I have not played further with the permissions, I gave
them dbo rights for now. I will probably play with that at a later date.

Hope that helps.
