Bunch of outlook bugs :(

Hello, I'm having a series of bugs with outlook '07 that are driving me up
the wall... Originally I ran into these with AVG antivirus installed, since
then I've tried using outlook with no AV installed at all on my system, then
with Avast installed, nothing changes the behaviour. For reference my system
specs are as follows:

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64
Office 2007 Ultimate Edition
AMD Athlon64 X2
2GB DDr 400 memory
700 total GB memory
nvidia geforce 7 seriese graphics
nvidia nForce 4 chipset

My problems:
When sending a email to a large group of people (say sending those forwards
everyone wants to friends and family), outlook will get stuck in an
infaniant loop, where the number of tasks to be performed rockets up faster
than an appollo rocket.

Trying to send an email with an attachment (say, .jpg image) results either
in the image being totally stripped, or turned into a .dat file rather than
what is supposed to be there

Incommnig plain text emails are randomly truncated...

I'm getting very fustrated at this point, I'm going to try reinstalling but
am not very hopeful. Any other reports of these kinds of issues?

These are not bugs in Outlook 2007 but configuration issues on your machine.
For all virus scanners you should disable their integration with Outlook
and/or any mail protocol; they do not provide an additional layer of
security and are known sources to cause these issues.

As for the dat-file issues; change your message format from Rich Text to
Plain Text or HTML.

Yes, as I have stated completely disabling email scanning and even
completely removing the AV software from the system *DID NOT* correct the
issue.
