BSD specific to 1 XP user account

Dear all

Please help. I'm going mad. Recently i believe I suffered from a
malware attack. I ran all manner of anti-malware software - ad-aware,
spybot etc, but I still get the blue screen of death.

The minidumps appear to to point to an unknown driver causing the
problem. Now here's the problem. On my login (full admin rights) Just
as the the sys tray is being loaded, I get the BSD.
When my wife logs on with her login (again full admin rights) she gets
the "windows dialog box indicating a "serious error" - and do we want
to send this to microsoft BUT after you have done this, it allows you
to carry on working!!!!

Now, can a different account load different drivers??!?

BTW: I still get an increasing amount of pop-ups in wifes account
-annoyingly IE pop-ups while using Firefox browser! Also I can log on
to to my account with safe mode??!!

Any thoughts,tips,advice

Kind Regards

Each User (Profile) has an independent Registry Hive (Current User).
It's not uncommon for one person's account to experience problems
another user will not have.

You probably need to boot the PC to Safe Mode (Administrator) &
perform cleanup in that mode.

Clean up is a tedious/time-consuming process. It alone isn't enough,
you need to have Real-Time protection using a Firewall with outgoing
traffic monitoring, some kind of Real-Time AntiSpyware tool like
MS AntiSpyware, SpySweeper & similar. There are lots of websites
that have detailed instructions on Spyware/Malware removal.

Along with Malware removal, your system likely needs driver updates
for the core components (Chipset, Video, Sound & NIC).
