First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

I am having a very similar problem on many of the
computers in my company. IE will work for about 30 minutes
then simply stop responding. A reboot will always fix the
problem, and after a few reboots it seems to go the rest
of the day. I thought it was also related to spyware so I
did adaware scans and spybout scans as well. Some found
spyware, others didn't. In all cases the problem showed
itself again the next day. I though maybe it might be
related to the new version of spybot, btu after removing
it, the same problem remains. All of my systems have IE 6
SP1 and Windows 2000 SP3, but the machines have various
updates installed and are not all current on critical
updates. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem. I have a dsl connection and Windows XP. I have contacted my service provider and they will not say it is their service disconnecting me. I have researched every option with my local system and network properties and cannot cure the disconnection. If I unplug the dsl modem and plug it back in, it will reset itself and then my computer will reset itself and all will work again for about 5 min. If anybody has any ideas about this, please write back!!

Thank You.
