Just a guy and his cat

Hi Folks:

I'm trying to solve what may be a browser problem my
mom is having with Internet Explorer for windows xp. She just bought a
dell computer and the problem she is having is that most of the time
the pages displayed have a large space/border on the right hand side
as indicated on the screen shot. She gets this with
honoluluadvertiser.com and with cnn.com to name a few. Her monitor is
a 15 inch tft and her video card is, I believe, an ati with 128 ram.
Is this just the way pages are developed and displayed with IE6 or is
there some type of setting that would make the content of the page
display the whole page?

I can't see the screen shot. So this is just a guess.

If you have a higher resolution, say 1024 x 768 some sites which are
optimised for 800 x 600 will have large 'blank' areas
