brother HL-730+ printer

It doesn't work on XP professional.
XP has drivers for it, but it doesn't work. I have tryd
to install the old drivers and the windows 2000 drivers
but that didn't work out.
Can anybody help me?
It is a good printer and it is a wasted to put it away.

Brother recommend removing the drivers for the printer before any upgrade to
XP (not that it does you much good to know that now). The Windows 9x drivers
definitely will not work. The Windows 200 drivers are not recommended.


Check the information on the web page. Restore the XP system back to a date
before you attempted to install any drivers, if possible. Remove any
software listed for the printer in Control Panel Add Remove programs.
Delete any printer drivers for it listed in Control Panel Printers and
Faxes. Shut down the system. Restart. Hopefully, Windows will detect the
printer and install the software. You might be prompted to place the Windows
XP CD in the drive. If not, run the add printer wizard.
