Broken down Windows?

I am so fustrated. My Windows broke down two times. Right now, it's telling me that a file in Windows 32 is missing. I try using the start-up disks (6 of them) to reinstall windows. However, when it loads the setup file, the whole comp just restarts. When I try to use the Windows installation disk, the setup asks me: press f2 to use automated recovery........... i don't have a recovery disk. If i press nothing, SETUP starts inspecting or preparing some files. I'm not even able to reinstall Windows. Are there any other "simpler" ways to recover windows????

Yes, and I'm not saying this to hurt your feelings: Yellow Pages
Computer Repair. Call someone or bring the machine in to a local shop,
not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store. The startup disks will not help
you reinstall Windows. If you have an OEM machine (HP, Compaq, etc.)
call their tech support for help. If you have a machine you bought
somewhere and can't contact the seller for whatever reason, you will
need to purchase a retail copy of Windows XP. Please repost with a full
description of your system for more help.

Yes, do this
start
run
type in the following sfc /scannow
This will scan your system files for missing or corrupted
files and replace them from an internal directory.
I assume since you don't have a recovery disk nor regular
installation disk, you should have a recovery partition
with all the needed system files.
as a strong suggestion, go out and buy a FULL version of
the operating system, you will need it in the future.
