Bootup snafu

I have an XP Pro machine that someone has tried to load
XP Home. When the machine boots it gives the option of
going to XP Pro or XP Home setup. How do I get rid of
this screen?

Hi Mike,

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig
Then go to the Boot.ini Tab and click on Check All Boot Paths. If you
receive a warning about a duplicate path: Do you want to remove, choose
yes.

Or...

Right click the My Computer icon/Properties/Advanced/Startup and
Recovery/Settings/System Startup/Edit.

.It say this file is missing:windows\system32\hal.dll
