I'm having very serious problems with my PC. I recently uninstalled windows
XP SP2 as it didn't allow me to view the Device Manager and also it caused
conflicting problems with my USB devices e.g. scanner, multi-media memory
card reader etc. As i uninstalled SP2 and back onto SP1. After i restarted
the PC, I noticed that the problem had been rectified. However after
restarting the computer once again, the PC kept on restarting itself after
the windows XP home edition startup logo i.e. it did not even boot up into
windows. It keeps restarting itself repeatedly. Is there a solution to this?
I would be grateful if someone could find me a resolution to this. If not I
can always reformat and re-install windows XP, however I would like to back
up my documents from the hard drive that is affected. I can not simply copy
and past this onto another drive as my documents have been write protected or
encrypted so that no other users can acces the file. Is there any way around
this so that i can copy the files onto another hard drive so that i can
format and re-install windows while preserving my files?
If not, is it possible to actually to a system restore on the affected hard
drive without it going into windows? I've tried getting into safe mode but
that isn't possible either.
Please get back to me if anyone finds a remedy for this! I would be most
grateful!
