Boot to CD ? Locked BIOS

My boards bios seems to be locked after I installed XP SP2.....This is only
a problem because to boot from My CD is not possible although it is second
in the list......If I disconnect The HD will it boot on the next and so I
could reconnect the HD and carry on with an XP repair install? will this
work ???

Adjust the boot order in the BIOS setup so that the CD drive
is tried prior to the hard drive. You didn't privide us
with the make and model of your motherboard but it's almost
always possible to change the boot device order.

To answer your question though, no you can't leave the hard
drive disconnected then connect it later, at least not in
this situation.
