boot probs

hello
heres the problem
when i switched my kids pc on the monitor would power down straight away,https://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-2131291.php,
so i replaced the graphic card and now it begins to boot and freezes on reading the cpu.

win xp
GA-7NNXPV
1 x 512meg pc3200
60gig ide hard drive

Do you can see the BIOS screen load and show the CPU type as the bottom text, and it freezes?

Which graphics card is it - is it one that needs a power connector to it?

hi ian
the graphic card is 4200 ti so no extra power needed
and it freezes on reading the cpu amd athlon 2200+
i tried pressing delete on boot up still freezes though
