hi i just installed a new gigabyte mother board with amd 939 socket, and amd
64 3000+. I installed all the drives and my ati all in wonder video card 9200
series. When finished with that I did a clean or fresh install of windows xp
w/ sp1. Everything went well, but when I went to restart windows, I just
recieved a screen saying that some hardware or software prevented windows
from starting or a possible power interuption. Below that tex it gives me the
four options safe mode, safe mode with command, safe mode with networking,
and start windows normally. It doesn't matter which one you choose it just
cause the machine to turn off and restart. If I put the xp installation disk
in the cd-rom, then windows will start. I have checked quite bit of things
and everything indicates that everything is okay, but obviously not. any and
all help is very much appreciated.

Start windows, and run setup from the CD again. (D:/i386/WinNT32.exe) Choose
"Upgrade" from the dropbox on that first setup screen.
