boot problem

hello all

i'm trying to reinstall windows and when it start to bootup it comes to
the point where it say searching for boot records what should i do?

So what happens then? Are you installing with a full version or an
upgrade version? Is the XP disk a retail copy or an OEM?

That means it is searching the media for the proper boot files. You will
need to provide a more accurate description of what you are using and doing.
