Boot from CD

Im trying to install xp pro.. I boot up off the cd and setup starts, I
partition and format and all that good stuff, then when it reboots itsself
right afterwords and its supposed to boot off the hard drive it says:
"Verifying DMI Pool Data...... Error loading operating system." Is this
because of a BIOS setting I have wrong?

Is your system old?.. are you attempting to load XP onto a new harddrive
that has not been installed in your machine previously?..

Make sure that BIOS recognises your HDD fully.. go to the HDD manufacturer
website and download and create a utility diskette that will allow you to
test and 'write zeros' to your drive.. repartition and reformat the drive..
after doing this, again check the BIOS recognises your drive..

Before attempting a new install, disconnect everything except screen,
keyboard and mouse..

No, the system isn't too old at all. Neither is the HD and ive installed XP on it a few times before... The BIOS does recognize it, but I haven't tried downloading the HD utility diskette, although ive never needed one before... I've cleared the CMOS and disconnected all the hardware, in and out too.
