Boot from CD... Error loading operating system.

Hi all!

I am badly seeking some help on installing windows xp.

I was trying to reformat my pc a couple of days ago, and I am using an
original Windows XP home to be installed in the drive. Prior to reformatting
my pc, I was running both Windows XP Pro and Ubuntu Linux on my machine.

Since I don't want to use Ubuntu anymore, I tried cleaning up my hard drive,
starting from deleting the old partition and creating a new one, then
formatting my HDD. When the blue setup screen reboots, it keeps on showing:

Boot from CD...
Error loading operating system.

I tried doing the same procedure again, but it keeps on showing the same
error.
Asked one of my friends, and he suggested that I try using the recovery
console and run the "FIXMBR" command. I tried it, but still no avail. Tried
also using "FIXBOOT", but still the same error shows.

Tried installing the Ubuntu Linux on my PC , and it worked fine. But when I
tried to install Windows XP on my machine, the same error occurs.

Please HELP!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Ann, go here and download and create a Win98SE boot disk. Then set the
floppy drive as first boot device in Bios.
Insert the created boot disk and bootup. At the A:\ type: fdisk /mbr
exactly the way it looks here with the space.
Once that's done set the cdrom drive as first boot device and use your
WinXP CD to delete or create partitions and
format.
